Azerbaijan’s GDP rose by 0.5%

In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan produced gross domestic products worth 60.3 billion manats, which in comparable prices is up by 0.5% from an appropriate period of 2022, the State Statistics Committee reports.

Note that the GDP production in the oil and gas sector of the economy (24.1 billion manats) declined by 2.1% during this period, in the non-oil and gas sector (36.1 billion manats) rose by 3.1%.

At that, industry accounts for 43.7% of GDP production, trade - 9.2%, transport and logistics - 5.9%, agriculture - 5.6%, construction - 4.7%, tourist accommodation and catering - 2.3%. ICT accounts for only 1.6% of Azerbaijan's GDP.

According to the SSC, the GDP of the industrial sector (26 billion 360 million manats) declined by 1.8% year-on-year, including the extractive industry (22 billion 260 million manats) by 3.7%. A decline (-11.2%) was also recorded in the field of transport and warehousing, where the production of value added amounted to 3.5 billion manats.

In the first half of the year, GDP per capita (5,947 manats or about $3.500) declined by 0.1% as compared to the same period in 2022.

It should be reminded that in January-June 2022, GDP per capita in Azerbaijan rose by 5.7%.
