Azerbaijan’s Independence Day Celebrated in Jordanian Media

Amman: The official website of Jordan's state news agency 'Petra,' along with prominent news outlets like "Jordan Daily," "Al-Ray," "Al-Dustour," "Nabd.Com," and "Al-Balad News," have published articles highlighting the significance of Azerbaijan's Independence Day.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the articles feature insights from Ambassador Shahin Abdullayev, who emphasized the historic establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918. This republic was noted for being the first democratic republic in the Muslim East, pioneering parliamentary governance and granting equal political rights, including voting rights for women.

The ambassador also elaborated on the robust bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan, which have been strengthened under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and King Abdullah II. In 2024, bilateral trade between the two nations reached approximately $6.5 million, supported by numerous agreements and memoranda of understanding in areas including trade, tourism, investment, and energy cooperation.

The articles further underscored Azerbaijan's increasing influence in global cooperation, its hosting of major international events, and its enhanced regional and international standing, which are seen as significant accomplishments of the country's development strategy.
