Baku: Azerbaijan's international assistance policy will continue to be based on national priorities, as announced by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a conference marking the 15th anniversary of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA). The event, titled "Promoting Global Solidarity through Cooperation for Humanitarian Support and Development," served as a platform to reflect on AIDA's accomplishments and Azerbaijan's evolving role in international development cooperation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the foreign minister highlighted that Azerbaijan's development path has been rooted in traditions of solidarity and charity. Over the years, these traditions have matured into a systematic state policy that not only extends humanitarian assistance but also focuses on the exchange of knowledge and fostering partnerships for development. Historical instances, particularly in education, were cited, where students from various regions like Asia, Africa, and Latin America pursued their studies in Azerbaijani institutions. This legacy continues through initiatives such as the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant Program and various collaborations within the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The foreign minister emphasized that Azerbaijan's cooperation strategy is not restricted to financial aid. The nation increasingly prioritizes the dissemination of expertise and sharing its development experiences as part of its assistance framework. Azerbaijan's international assistance policy is expected to remain driven by national priorities, mutual benefits, practical implementation, and the aim of achieving sustainable outcomes.
