Khankendi: On June 2, the Karabakh Education and Partnership Forum took place at Karabakh University in the city of Khankendi. The event aimed to advance education and public-private partnerships in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the forum operated under the theme ‘Joint Steps for the Future Karabakh’ and was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Economy. Key organizers included the Karabakh Revival Fund, the Education Development Fund, the Azerbaijan Free Trade Union of Education Workers, and Karabakh University.

The forum opened with a welcome address by Karabakh University Rector Shahin Bayramov. Subsequent speeches were delivered by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev and Special Representative of the President in Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, Elchin Yusubov. They discussed the region’s educational development, human capital enhancement, and the strategic value of public-private collaborations.

A significant outcome of the forum was the establishment of the ‘Karabakh Scholarship Program.’ Several organizations and companies, including the Karabakh Revival Fund, Veysaloglu Group of Companies, International Bank of Azerbaijan, and Kapital Bank OJSC, committed to providing scholarships for Karabakh University students. This initiative aims to bolster the region’s socio-economic growth, attract youth to Karabakh, and support students’ academic and professional advancement.

The forum featured panel discussions on two topics. The first panel, ‘The Great Return: Challenges and Opportunities,’ moderated by Elnur Nasibov, included speakers such as Emin Amrullayev, Elchin Yusubov, and Rahman Hajiyev. They addressed regional reconstruction and human resource development. The second panel focused on ‘Public-private partnership opportunities in Karabakh’ and was moderated by Jeyhun Karamov. Participants discussed prospects and cooperation opportunities in the region.

The event concluded with an artistic performance of Azerbaijani national music by Karabakh University’s teaching and student staff. The forum highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts in the restoration and development of Karabakh, drawing over 200 participants, including state representatives, private sector stakeholders, and academic professionals.
