Zangilan: Azerbaijan’s Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Aghband highway is undergoing significant development and is set to become a toll road. The project, currently being executed in the Aghband settlement of the Zangilan district, is being constructed in line with the first technical category, Ziyaddin Hasanov, a specialist from the Azerbaijan State Agency of Automobile Roads, informed journalists during a media tour.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the total length of the road is 123.6 kilometers, with 78.5 kilometers comprising six traffic lanes and the remaining 45.1 kilometers consisting of four traffic lanes. The carriageway widths are 14 and 21 meters, while the roadbed widths are 21.5 and 29 meters. The highway features eight interchanges, 44 underpasses, five overpasses, and 314 structures of varying diameters. Additionally, the total length of the tunnels spans 12 kilometers, with three tunnels in place, and the project also includes the construction of 24 bridges. Construction on 23 bridges is complete, with work on one bridge still ongoing.

Hasanov mentioned that the highway is intended to be toll-based in the future. As an alternative, the Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan road has already been constructed and put into operation. The completion of the current construction projects is expected in the second half of next year.
