Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency Calls for Responsible Information Sharing

Baku: Azerbaijan's Media Development Agency has issued a statement urging media outlets and social media users to rely on official sources when disseminating information.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the agency addressed concerns regarding a report by APA News Agency, which claimed that the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan is investigating the Ganja City Executive Authority. The Media Development Agency clarified that this information has not been confirmed by official sources and is considered inaccurate.

The agency expressed its stance against the spread of legally prohibited and reputationally damaging information about state bodies. It highlighted the importance of adhering to Article 14.1.11-1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan 'On Media,' which does not permit the publication of false information. The Media Development Agency emphasized the necessity for media and social media users to act responsibly by referencing official sources when sharing information.
