Azerbaijan’s Military Police Delegation Explores Collaboration Opportunities in Bulgaria

Sofia: In line with the program for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, a delegation from the Military Police Department of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan visited Sofia, Bulgaria, the ministry told AZERTAC. The delegation, led by Major General Elgun Aliyev, Deputy Chief of the Main Department of Internal Security and Investigations and Chief of the Military Police Department, engaged in a comprehensive visit to the administrative facilities of the Military Police Department and the Regional Military Police Unit of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation familiarized itself with the organization of military police structures, management mechanisms, and the specifics of daily military service activities in Bulgaria. Presentations were delivered on the duties of the Bulgarian Military Police during both peacetime and wartime, as well as their activities within the framework of NATO.

During the meetings, discussions centered on the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the field of military police. Both sides participated in an extensive exchange of views on related issues, placing emphasis on the mutual exchange of experience, enhancement of professional training, and expansion of opportunities for joint activities.

The visit is considered significant for expanding cooperation between the military police of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, aiming to further develop relations in the field of security.
