Baku: In January-March of this year, Azerbaijan's mining industry recorded a total production value of 8,723.3 million manats, marking a 0.7% decrease compared to the same period last year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Statistical Committee's monthly report highlighted that 7,745.4 million manats of this total were attributed to crude oil and natural gas production, which saw a 1.9% annual decrease. The production of marketable oil was 6,611.9 thousand tons, reflecting a 3.4% decrease from the previous year. Conversely, marketable natural gas production slightly increased by 0.7%, reaching 9,857.9 million cubic meters.
Further insights from the report detail that the mining of metal ores experienced a significant rise, with a production value of 229.3 million manats, a 29.2% increase compared to last year. Other sectors within the mining industry and services provided to the mining sector also showed growth, with increases of 10.5% and 19.8%, respectively.
The data further reveals that the overall production volume in the mining industry for crude oil, including gas condensate, reached 6,629.7 thousand tons, maintaining a stock of 273.2 thousand tons in warehouses as of April 1, 2026. Meanwhile, natural gas production achieved a total of 12,506.6 million cubic meters, with commodity production from it at 9,857.9 million cubic meters.
