Baku: Production in Azerbaijan’s non-oil and gas sector has witnessed a significant increase of 5.5% from January to July 2025. Despite this growth, the overall industrial output in the country experienced a decline of 2.3% compared to the same period last year, with industrial products valued at AZN 36.6 billion.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Statistical Committee reported that while the non-oil and gas sector thrived, the oil and gas sector saw a contraction of 3.5%. The mining sector contributed 61.5% of the industrial production, followed by the manufacturing sector at 32.0%, electricity, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply at 5.5%, and water supply, waste treatment, and processing at 1.0%.

Within the mining sector, marketable oil production decreased by 5.4%, whereas marketable gas production experienced a slight increase of 0.2%. In the manufacturing sector, substantial growth was observed in wood processing and wood products (88.2%), pharmaceutical products (81.3%), and textile industry products (27.5%). However, several areas, including clothing production, which dropped by 38.3%, faced setbacks.

The electricity, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply sector saw a 2.5% increase in production volume, and the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector increased by 4.7%. The diverse performance across various sectors highlights the dynamic nature of Azerbaijan’s industrial landscape.
