Baku: A recent public opinion survey conducted by the Social Research Center has revealed that the citizens of Azerbaijan highly appreciate the President’s performance in foreign policy. The survey aimed to gauge public sentiment regarding the President’s activities during the first half of 2025, focusing on several key areas of his extensive activity.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the survey results indicate strong public endorsement of the President’s overall performance. Notably, there is broad support for initiatives related to the Great Return and reconstruction, foreign policy, military development, and national security. The survey particularly highlighted public approval in the realm of foreign policy, with 67.8% of respondents rating it as very good and 24.4% as mostly good. A minimal percentage of participants expressed dissatisfaction, with only 1.0% rating it as mostly poor and 0.6% as very poor, while 6.2% found it challenging to form an opinion.
The favorable opinion towards Azerbaijan’s foreign policy reflects public support for the country’s approach to regional cooperation, geopolitical balancing, and engagement with international organizations. The survey employed a quantitative methodology, utilizing multi-stage stratified probability sampling. This method ensured representation across various demographics, including gender, education, and age, based on official statistics.
The survey involved 1,200 participants aged 18 and above, conducted from June 10 to June 18, 2025, using computer-assisted personal interviewing. It covered multiple economic regions, including Baku, Absheron-Khizi, Mountain Shirvan, Ganja-Dashkasan, Gazakh-Tovuz, Lankaran-Astara, Guba-Khachmaz, Sheki-Zagatala, Karabakh, Central Aran, Mil-Mugan, and Shirvan-Salyan. Notably, the Nakhchivan and East Zangazur regions were excluded. Surveys were carried out in 41 districts and cities, involving both republican subordination cities and districts.
Prior to the fieldwork, interviewers received training to ensure anonymity and voluntary participation of respondents, assuring them that the findings would be used exclusively for research purposes. The survey’s results have a margin of error of 3% at a 95% confidence interval, underscoring the reliability of the public opinion captured.
