Azerbaijan’s President Urges Armenia to Open Archives on Missing Persons

Baku:Azerbaijan's President, Ilham Aliyev, has called on Armenia to provide detailed information about the fate of missing Azerbaijanis, as well as information on mass graves and individual burial sites. He emphasized the need for Armenia to open relevant archives and facilitate the collection of witness statements.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev made these remarks during his address at the 4th International Conference in the Baku Dialogue format, which focused on "Strengthening Trust and Developing Effective Mechanisms for Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons."

The President stressed that providing this information is not only a legal obligation and humanitarian duty but also a practical step towards demonstrating a commitment to peace and fostering mutual trust. He underscored the importance of keeping the information regarding the fate of missing individuals free from political influence.
