Doha: A delegation from Azerbaijan, led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, visited Doha, Qatar, where they participated in significant events and bilateral meetings. The visit commenced on December 14 with Aliyev’s attendance at the Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award ceremony. This event gathered prominent figures, including Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, alongside other Qatari officials, UN representatives, and delegations from various countries.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during the visit, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev engaged in bilateral meetings with notable officials. These included Ali bin Fetais Al Marri, Chairman of the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC), and Alexander Zuev, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Rule of Law and Security Institutions in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations. The meetings were also attended by Adish Mammadov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Qatar.
Kamran Aliyev further visited the Azerbaijani Embassy in Doha, where he met with embassy staff. Additionally, the Azerbaijani delegation is expected to participate in the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption, also known as the UN Anti-Corruption Conference.
