Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Engages in High-Level Meetings During Saudi Arabia Visit

Jeddah: An Azerbaijani delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in an international conference in Jeddah. The visit was made at the invitation of Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, the President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of Saudi Arabia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous praised the growing partnership between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the advancement of high-level relations between the two countries’ law enforcement authorities. In response, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev expressed optimism about enhancing bilateral cooperation with Saudi authorities and international organizations in the fight against crime.

During his visit, Kamran Aliyev met with Hassan Moalim Mahmoud Sheikh Ali, the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs of Somalia. The Prosecutor General highlighted the visit of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to Azerbaijan earlier this year and the agreements signed during his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized that the strong relationship between the heads of state has further fostered cooperation between the two nations.

Hassan Moalim Mahmoud Sheikh Ali acknowledged that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Somalia has been beneficial in combating crime and providing mutual legal assistance in criminal cases. Additionally, Kamran Aliyev held a meeting with Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, the Attorney General of the State of Qatar, further strengthening ties with the Qatari legal authorities.
