Baku: Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General met with Irakli Kandashvili, Chairperson of the Georgian Bar Association, to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two countries' legal systems. The sides hailed the strong friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia. They noted that the high-level strategic partnership and constant interstate dialogue provide a solid basis for deeper cooperation in politics, economy, transport, humanitarian areas, and legal system collaboration.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Kamran Aliyev stressed the significance of fostering ties with international partners for the Prosecutor's Office. He underlined that exchanges between law enforcement agencies, bar associations, and judicial institutions of the two countries play a key role in advancing their legal systems. Irakli Kandashvili expressed gratitude for the hospitality and highlighted the strong relations between the legal and law enforcement bodies of both countries.
Azerbaijan Bar Association Chairman Anar Baghirov emphasized the strong ties between prosecutorial and bar institutions and hailed the first official visit of Georgian Bar Association Chairman Irakli Kandashvili to Azerbaijan. The meeting also included discussions on several matters of mutual interest, such as reforms in the legal and legislative system and the introduction of new legal institutions.
Following the meeting, the guests were briefed on the activity of the Prosecutor General's Office and visited its History Museum.
