Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Participates in IAP Conference in Singapore

Baku: A large Azerbaijani delegation, led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, paid a working visit to Singapore to attend the 30th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the event, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev was presented with a certificate of appreciation for the successful organization of the previous IAP Annual Conference in Baku. Aliyev stated that this award reflects Azerbaijan’s growing prestige in the international community and recognizes the effective global activities of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor’s Office.

The conference featured a session on ‘Specialized Network for Combating Economic Crime and Assets Recovery,’ moderated by Isfandiyar Hajiyev, Head of the Organizational and Information Support Department of the Chief Anti-Corruption Office under the Prosecutor General. During this session, Deputy Prosecutor General Heydar Mammadov discussed Azerbaijan’s experience in tackling financial crime, recovering assets, and using modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and advanced data analysis tools.

On the sidelines of the event, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev held bilateral meetings with various international counterparts, including the Head of the Crown Prosecution Service of the UK, the Attorneys General of Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and Lithuania, as well as the Deputy Attorneys General of Malaysia and Brazil. They discussed the current state of cooperation and prospects for further development.

Both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration against transnational crime through mutual legal assistance, extradition, and the sharing of experience and information. They agreed that joint, trust-based efforts are crucial in combating international crime and explored the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation to expand these efforts.

The event was also attended by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Indonesia Ramil Rzayev.
