Jerusalem: As part of his visit to Israel, Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC), met with Theophilos III, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem. During the meeting, Hasanov discussed Azerbaijan's approach to multiculturalism, emphasizing the nation's religious and cultural diversity and its ongoing efforts to promote mutual respect and dialogue among different faiths.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hasanov highlighted that Azerbaijan has historically been a place where various religions and cultures have coexisted peacefully. He noted the significant role of the Christian community in Azerbaijan's cultural and public life, with the state providing full protection to Orthodox, Catholic, and Albanian-Udi communities.
Patriarch Theophilos III praised Azerbaijan's commitment to multicultural and religious tolerance, acknowledging the state's efforts to preserve and support Christian heritage. He emphasized the importance of fostering interfaith dialogue in today's world.
