Azerbaijan’s Renewable Energy Focus Highlighted at First Azerbaijan-UK Policy Dialogue

Baku: Azerbaijan’s commitment to renewable energy was prominently discussed by David Duguid, a former member of the British Parliament, during the opening ceremony of the First Azerbaijan-UK Policy Dialogue. Duguid highlighted the nation’s strategic shift towards sustainable energy sources, which underscores its growing emphasis on energy security and international cooperation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Duguid remarked that Azerbaijan’s recent energy policy developments are underscored by its focus on solar and wind projects. The designation of Karabakh and East Zangezur as ‘green energy zones’ marks a significant stride towards enhancing the country’s energy security, economic diversification, and environmental sustainability. Hosting COP29, a prestigious international climate event, further reflects Azerbaijan’s dedication to renewable energy and its aspiration to contribute to the global climate agenda.
