Tehran: A delegation from Azerbaijan, headed by Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis, arrived in Tehran, Iran, to participate in the farewell ceremony for Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation was received at Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport by Ali Nikzad, Deputy Speaker of Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly, and Ali Alizada, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran, along with other officials. The delegation then made its way to the Mosallah Complex to attend the ceremony.

During the course of the event, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova met with several Iranian officials, including Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly. She conveyed the condolences of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The Azerbaijani delegation comprised notable figures such as Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Speaker Ziyafat Asgarov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Samir Sharifov, and Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Jabbar Musayev, among other officials.
