Azerbaijan’s Standardization Institute Adopts New Standards to Enhance Lubricant Production and Safety Compliance

Baku: The Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND) has officially adopted a series of new state standards aimed at boosting the production of lubricating oils and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. These newly implemented standards include AZS GOST 21791:2025 “MAS-30NK synthetic oil. Technical specifications”, AZS GOST 23258:2025 “Plastic lubricants. Names and symbols”, AZS GOST 23652:2025 “Transmission oils. Technical specifications”, and AZS GOST 25821:2025 “Liquid PGV. Technical specifications”.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the adoption of these standards is part of a strategic initiative to expand the production capabilities of lubricating oils in Azerbaijan. The standards also aim to establish a set of unified norms and rules to ensure that safety requirements are consistently met across the industry.

The process of developing and discussing these standards took place within the Technical Committee for the standardization of ‘Additives, lubricating oils, greases, and special fluids’ (AZSTAND/TK 34). Following their adoption by the Institute, the standards were included in the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardization, marking a significant step forward in the country’s commitment to enhancing both production and safety in the lubricant sector.
