Baku: President Ilham Aliyev announced that Azerbaijan's strategic decision to increase its gold reserves resulted in earnings of more than 10 billion U.S. dollars for the State Oil Fund. During an interview with local television channels, the President highlighted the foresight in predicting the rise in gold prices amid geopolitical developments.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the President emphasized the financial impact of this decision, stating that the increase in gold reserves significantly bolstered Azerbaijan's economic standing. He noted that while the value of reserves is subject to daily fluctuations, the current reserves represent some of the highest per capita in the world. The President also acknowledged that any potential decrease in gold prices would affect the reserves, which currently fluctuate between 83 and 85 billion dollars.
