Aghdara: At around 08:30 this morning, a man born in 1979 was hospitalized at the Tartar District Central Hospital, the Azerbaijani Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) said in response to APA’s inquiry. The patient received initial medical care and was then evacuated to the Barda District Central Hospital for more specialized treatment.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the man, identified as Gulu Tufan Guliyev, suffered a traumatic amputation at the level of the left lower limb’s ankle joint due to a mine explosion on July 10, 2025, in Hasangaya village, Aghdara district. Surgical intervention is planned, and the patient remains in serious condition while receiving treatment in the relevant department.

Officials from the Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) confirmed that Guliyev was injured by an anti-personnel mine while herding livestock in an uncleared area of Hasangaya village. An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Tartar District Prosecutor’s Office.

APA’s local bureau reports that law enforcement officers have been dispatched to the scene following the incident. The explosion highlights ongoing risks in uncleared areas within the region.
