Azerbaijan’s Victory Day Celebrated with Youth Dialogue Event in London

London:An event titled 'Heritage of Unity Youth Dialogue for Collective Impact' was held at King's College London to celebrate Azerbaijan's Victory Day on November 8. This gathering was organized by the Azerbaijani Students and Alumni Platform (ASAP) with the support of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event brought together Azerbaijani students studying in the UK, young professionals, and diaspora representatives. Professor Garib Murshudov, a notable Azerbaijani scientist from the University of Cambridge, was among the participants.

Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the UK, Elin Suleymanov, addressed the attendees, congratulating Azerbaijanis on Victory Day. He highlighted the day’s significance in the nation's modern history, referring to the 2020 Patriotic War's 44-day conflict, which ended in victory under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The ambassador noted that this victory was achieved through the heroism of Azerbaijani soldiers and veterans, as well as national unity and solidarity. He described Victory Day as a symbol of military success, national pride, and the restoration of historical justice, while also paying tribute to those who lost their lives defending Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Suleymanov urged young Azerbaijanis to maintain the country's reputation and contribute to its future development. The event featured discussions on international cooperation opportunities for young people, overseas education and career prospects, and their role in representing Azerbaijan internationally.

Participants shared their views on the challenges and opportunities facing Azerbaijani students abroad, professional development, and effective international representation. The event, moderated by ASAP's London representative Sabina Abishova, emphasized youth networking and active participation in joint initiatives.
