Azercosmos and IISL Forge Partnership to Advance Space Law Cooperation

Antalya:Azerkosmos, the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster international cooperation in space law. The agreement was formalized during the 77th International Astronautical Congress held in Antalya, Türkiye.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Memorandum aims to enhance international collaboration in space law and uphold the rule of law beyond Earth. The agreement outlines plans for joint organization of space law events, integration of space law into academic curricula, and the exchange of information and expertise on contemporary issues and trends in the field.

The Memorandum serves as a foundational framework for cooperation, focusing on developing legal and institutional aspects of space activities in Azerbaijan. It emphasizes studying international best practices and strengthening professional capacity in space law. The initiative also seeks to raise awareness about space law among broader audiences.
