Azerigorta to pay for helicopter crash

Heirs of the servicemen killed in a helicopter crash in Azerbaijan on 30 November will be provided with lump-sum insurance payments. This was reported by the Association of Azerbaijani Insurers.

The Agency’s executive director Elmar Mirsalayev said that the payment will be made in line with the Law on State Compulsory Personal Insurance for Military Servicemen: “As a result of the crash of the State Border Service helicopter Mi-17 during landing at Garaheybat training ground, 14 military servicemen died and 2 military servicemen were injured. According to the Law, in case of death of a serviceman on active military service, the heir shall be paid 11,000 manats, and 8,800 manats for 80-100% loss of body functions, 6,600 manats for 60-80% loss, 4,400 manats for 30-60% loss, and 2,750 manats for severe injuries and 550 manats for minor injuries.

Heirs of our 14 soldiers killed in an accident will receive 11,000 manats each, and 2 injured soldiers, as soon as the percentage of disability or degree of injury is determined, will be able to take advantage of these one-time insurance payments. For this to happen, you should apply to the branches of the state commercial insurance company (“Azerigorta”) operating in the capital and regions.

Mirsalayev added that the payment of lump-sum insurance cash to the heirs of the deceased soldiers and the wounded due to the provocation committed by Armenia on November 16 this year, has already started: “During the military operations 7 servicemen of the Azerbaijani Army were killed, 10 servicemen were wounded. Out of 7 killed servicemen 2 received lump-sum payments from Azersgort. Another 5 heirs of the shehids and 10 wounded servicemen have not yet applied to the company for payment. They can also apply in the same way and get a lump sum insurance payout.”
