AZSTAND Joins ISO Plenary Meeting on Artificial Intelligence

Singapore: Representatives of the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND) attended the plenary meeting of the Technical Committee ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42 "Artificial Intelligence" (TC 42) held in Singapore.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the plenary meeting was chaired by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and saw participation from representatives of standardization agencies from numerous countries, including the U.S., Germany, Australia, Brazil, Great Britain, and South Africa. Other participating countries included the People's Republic of China, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, France, India, Indonesia, Israel, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, the Republic of Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Egypt, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Rwanda, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tanzania, Trkiye, Uganda, Japan, among others.

Officials from various national standardization institutions, specialists in artificial intelligence systems, and representatives from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standards Association were also present at the meeting.

The meeting, part of the ISO capacity building on AI policy and standards, featured informative sessions on advanced regulatory practices aligned with international and national standards in the field. Additionally, representatives were appointed to form new working groups focused on artificial intelligence.
