“Graduation Day-2021” was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).

First, the bust of the great leader Heydar Aliyev was visited in the lobby of the university.

The event was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Education, the executive power of the Yasamal district and deputies.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the “Graduate Day-2021” was organized in accordance with the rules of the special quarantine regime. The graduation day began with the performance of the national anthem of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom of our lands.

Then Rector Vilayat Valiyev made a speech. Congratulating the graduates, Rector said that due to the pandemic conditions, only graduates with a high overall average academic performance were invited to the event. Rector also congratulated the graduates who were unable to take part in the event, and wished everyone success in their future lives.

Vilayat Valiyev noted that this year 1,465 people graduated from the university at the bachelor’s level and 288 people at the master’s level. 23 people from among the bachelors and 140 masters received diplomas with honors. Noting that among the graduates of this year there are participants of the 44-day Patriotic War, Rector thanked them for the heroism shown in the name of freedom of our lands. Vilayat Valiyev mentioned that AzTU students have always been distinguished by a high level of patriotic feelings. More than 250 students and graduates of the university took part in the Patriotic War. Of these, 28 people became martyrs.

Vilayat Valiyev also spoke about the work carried out in recent years at AzTU in the direction of improving the quality of education. He mentioned that in the near future AzTU will become one of the most developed universities in the region.

Deputy Minister of Education, Mukhtar Mammadov, Head of the Executive Power of Yasamal district, Elshad Hasanov, deputies Rufat Guliyev and Etibar Aliyev, Chairman of the Management Board of Bestcomp Group, Rauf Hasanov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of AzTU, Chetin Elmas who were present at the event congratulated the graduates and wished them success.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Ayhan Gurbanov, a graduate of the Faculty of Energy and Automation, thanked the university management for the conditions created for them.

Then the graduates who graduated from the university with honors were awarded certificates of honor, the veterans were presented with gifts on behalf of the management of the Bestcomp Group company.

The event ended with a performance by People’s Artist, famous mugham performer Mansum Ibragimov and members of the “Karabakh ” mugham group headed by him -People’s Artist Elchin Hashimov and Honored Artist Elnur Akhm.
