Baku: Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, emphasized the significance of a child rights approach in urban planning policies during the 'Children and Youth' roundtable at WUF13. She highlighted that the concept of 'home' extends beyond a mere physical space to include a nurturing environment for children's development, education, and socialization.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Muradova pointed out the challenges posed by rapid urbanization, climate change, social inequalities, and forced displacement. She noted that children, particularly those in informal settlements and conflict-affected areas, face difficulties accessing essential services such as housing, education, healthcare, and safe public spaces. Muradova advocated for urban planning and housing policies to incorporate human rights, with a focus on children's rights, integrating children's experiences and needs into the planning process to shape future cities.
