Bako Sahakayan Confirms Membership in ‘Hayastan’ All-Armenian Fund During Court Proceedings

Baku: During ongoing court proceedings at the Baku Military Court, defendant Bako Sahakyan confirmed his past membership in the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Sahakyan disclosed that representatives from the Armenian government and leaders of the so-called regime were also members of the fund. He stated that Armenians worldwide, including businesspersons who were Armenian citizens, contributed donations to the fund.

Sahakyan explained that the funds collected were allocated both to Armenia and the so-called regime. He revealed that the fund financed the construction of two highways from Armenia to Khankendi: the Yerevan-Gorus-Khankendi and the Yerevan-Basarkechar-Khankendi highways.

In response to the prosecutor’s inquiries, Sahakyan confirmed that military equipment from Armenia was transported to formerly occupied territories of Azerbaijan via these highways. He further added that funds were used to support illegal settlement in these territories.

The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund was established in 1992 by a decree from Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Court proceedings continue against Armenian nationals accused of severe crimes, including war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, aggression, terrorism, and violations of war laws, alongside charges of financing terrorism and violent power seizure.
