Baku Celebrates 99th Anniversary of Chinese People’s Liberation Army

Baku: The 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army was commemorated in Baku on July 28, APA reports. The event began with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and China, marking the strong ties between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei addressed the gathering, noting the significance of the 99th anniversary. He emphasized that since its establishment in 1927, the Chinese People's Liberation Army has been dedicated to safeguarding China's national sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and development. Additionally, the army plays a significant role in supporting world peace and contributing to global stability.

Ambassador Lu Mei highlighted that military cooperation is a key area of the bilateral strategic partnership between China and Azerbaijan. He expressed the Chinese military's readiness to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, aiming to advance bilateral cooperation.

China's military attach© to Azerbaijan, Colonel Sun Zhong, also spoke at the event, underscoring the importance of exchanges and cooperation in the military sphere as a crucial component of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
