Baku: On August 29, Trkiye's Embassy in Azerbaijan hosted an official reception in Baku to commemorate Turkish Victory Day and Armed Forces Day. The event was attended by state and governmental officials, ambassadors, military attaches, representatives of international organizations, and public figures. The celebration began with the national anthems of both countries.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Birol Akgn, read a congratulatory letter from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in honor of Trkiye's Victory Day on August 30. He referred to August 30 and November 8 as significant victories for Trkiye and Azerbaijan in their fight for independence. He also praised the progress towards peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Colonel General Karim Valiyev, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, highlighted the strong relations between the two nations. He emphasized the exceptional roles played by the leaders of both countries in strengthening this relationship. Valiyev noted that the historical, religious, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations create new opportunities for bilateral military cooperation.
