Baku Embraces Green Transport with 350 Electric Buses for COP29


BAKU—In an ambitious move to support the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the city of Baku is set to deploy 350 electric buses. This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy to ensure efficient and eco-friendly transportation during the high-profile event.



According to Trend News Agency, the preparations for COP29 are well underway, with significant advancements reported. The conference is scheduled to take place from November 11 to 22 at the Baku Olympic Stadium, where final touches on construction are expected to be completed shortly. The introduction of electric buses is designed to enhance the transport infrastructure, supporting the anticipated influx of participants and media personnel. Additionally, the event’s logistics will be bolstered by the integration of 4,000 additional numbers through the “bnetwork” and the establishment of a temporary media center aimed at facilitating worldwide coverage of the discussions and outcomes.
