Jinan:Baku Baku Engineering University (BEU) has taken a significant step in expanding its international academic cooperation by joining the Belt and Road Architecture Universities International Consortium (BRAUIC). This development is expected to foster research ties and promote innovative engineering solutions.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the admission was formalized with a letter of intent signed during the 10th International Conference and Forum of BRAUIC, which took place from October 16-19 at Shandong Jianzhu University in Jinan, China.
Membership in the consortium opens up new avenues for BEU, including the implementation of joint research projects, development of academic programs, and expansion of student and faculty exchange. It also allows the university to gain insights from international experiences in modern engineering, architecture, and urban planning.
During the event, BEU's Vice-Rector for International Relations, Atraba Gul, emphasized the importance of global partnerships, innovation, and sustainable development in architecture and civil engineering education. Gul highlighted the need for strengthening international academic partnerships and integrating innovation into higher engineering education to support sustainable development goals.
BRAUIC, established in 2017 by Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, is dedicated to fostering international cooperation in architecture, civil engineering, and urban planning. The consortium, comprising 101 member institutions from 33 countries and regions, supports joint research, technology transfer, and innovative personnel training. Its activities aim to address challenges such as rapid urbanization, climate change, environmental safety, energy efficiency, and the sustainability of urban infrastructure.
BEU's membership in BRAUIC enhances its representation in international academic networks and strengthens its research capabilities, promoting Azerbaijan's higher education opportunities on the global stage.
