Baku: Co-organized by ADA University and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Agriculture, the 4th Agrarian Startups and Innovation Forum was held at the Italy-Azerbaijan University in Baku. The forum gathered state officials, heads of higher educational institutions, representatives of acceleration and incubation centers, investors, agrarian startup founders, and companies operating in the agricultural sector.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event showcased innovative solutions and technologies offered by agrarian startuppers, acceleration and incubation centers, and members of the private sector. Projects and artificial intelligence modules developed by startup teams from up to 20 higher education institutions were also on display.
Addressing the forum, Hafiz Pashayev, Rector of ADA University, highlighted the importance of the event, adding that it has been two years since the establishment of the Agricultural and Food Sciences faculty at the ADA University. He emphasized that platforms like the Agrarian Startups and Innovation Forum contribute significantly to the development of the faculty.
Majnun Mammadov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture, noted that in the modern era, the global economy is shifting toward an innovation-based development model. He stated that Azerbaijan is leveraging innovative and digital approaches across all sectors of the economy, including agriculture, as it integrates into the world economic system.
Anar Jafarov, Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center, stressed the strategic importance of using agrarian innovations, boosting food security, efficient use of resources amid climate change, and the application of AI-based solutions.
The event concluded with the awarding of winning startups and panel discussions titled 'Prospects for Innovative Development of the Agricultural Ecosystem' and 'The Role of Knowledge and Academia in the Formation and Application of Innovations.'
