Baku: Today, Baku is hosting the latest meeting of the Council of Central (National) Banks of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States. Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, announced the event on his X account, as reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting welcomes governors of central banks from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, and Trkiye, as well as observer representatives from Hungary and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States will also participate. The gathering aims to enhance cooperation among the Turkic states, emphasizing dialogue and experience sharing to foster a more integrated and resilient financial ecosystem.
The meeting will serve as a platform to address macroeconomic and financial stability amid global challenges. Discussions will focus on monetary policy transmission and the development of financial technologies during digital transformation. Presentations will cover 'Monetary and financial policy measures of central banks against global and regional risks in the medium term' and 'Development of digital financial ecosystems, including financial technologies.'
The Council, established in 2024, had its first meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan. Its primary goal is to strengthen cooperation in monetary policy, financial stability, payment systems, and financial technologies. The Council also aims to promote joint consultations and research, serving as a consultative and advisory body for mutual interests.
