Baku Hosts First European TeamGym Championship at National Gymnastics Arena


Baku: The National Gymnastics Arena in Baku set a vibrant stage for the inaugural European TeamGym Championship, according to the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation Secretary General Nurlana Mammadzade. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mammadzade emphasized the exceptional atmosphere at the venue and the federation’s history of organizing prestigious gymnastic events.

According to Trend News Agency, Mammadzade noted the popularity of TeamGym in Europe and its significant presence at the championship. The event, running from October 16-19, has attracted teams from 14 countries, comprising over 800 delegation members, including 500 athletes. The competition features three unique gymnastic apparatuses specific to TeamGym.

Mammadzade also extended an invitation to both local and international fans to experience the event, highlighting the strong participation and enthusiasm already evident at the arena. Participants from Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, Estonia, Finland, the UK, Iceland, Italy, Luxe
mbourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, and Sweden are competing, each contributing to a diverse and talented lineup.
