Baku: As part of the 7th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the plenary session of the International Scientific-Practical Conference dedicated to prominent Azerbaijani thinker and scholar Sheikh Seyid Yahya Bakuvi Shirvani commenced at Gulustan Palace in Baku, on September 14.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the conference was organized by the Caucasus Muslims Office and gathered nearly 200 religious and public figures, and scholars, from around 40 countries and 18 international organizations. In his remarks, Chairman of Caucasus Muslims Office Allahshukur Pashazade emphasized that the philosophy of Seyyid Yahya Bakuvi, who made efforts in preaching Islam, is mainly based on the principles of spiritual perfection, human brotherhood, tolerance, and human solidarity.
Other speakers included Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS); Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders; Isa Habibbayli, President of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences (ANAS); Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations; and others.
A book-album titled "The Summit of Brotherhood and Alliance" was presented at the international conference. Authored by CMB Chairman Allahshukur Pashazade, the publication was issued in Azerbaijani and Uzbek, highlighting the efforts by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to preserve and develop spiritual heritage and Islamic values in the recent history of the two brotherly peoples, friendly and allied states.
The conference will continue its work with panel discussions on September 15.
