Baku Hosts Presentation of ASAN AI Hub, Fostering AI Ecosystem

Baku: On December 2, a presentation of the ASAN Artificial Intelligence platform (ASAN AI Hub), established on the initiative of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan, was held in Baku. Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations, emphasized the platform’s significance for the country’s AI ecosystem, aligning with President Ilham Aliyev’s directive during a speech at the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The platform connects public services, businesses, research centers, and startups, supporting AI-based solutions.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, other speakers included Sahib Alakbarov, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Economy, and Samir Mammadov, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport. Steve Nouri, CEO and co-founder of GenAI Works, presented on “Generative Artificial Intelligence in 2025,” discussing global trends, technological advancements, and AI applications.

During the event, Memorandums of Understanding were signed between the ASAN AI Hub and companies such as Apolitical, Breakthrough Social Enterprise, and GenAI Works. These agreements aim to integrate the ASAN AI Hub into the global innovation ecosystem.

The panel session titled “Open innovation in artificial intelligence: Bridging for all,” moderated by Katherine Miller Weber, featured Laman Ibrahimova, Head of ASAN AI Hub; Steve Nouri; Khaladdin Rzayev, Co-Director of the Edinburgh Financial Innovations Center; and Fu Zhiyong, Associate Professor at Tsinghua University.
