Baku Metro Infrastructure Set for Major Upgrade Under New Agreement

Baku: An agreement has been signed between “Baku Metro” CJSC and the Turkish “Yksel Proje” company to expand and modernize the infrastructure of the Baku Metro within the framework of the “State Program for the Improvement of Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Surrounding Areas for 2025-2030”. The implementation of the obligations has already begun.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the agreement involves the design of stations Y14-Y17 on the Green Line and B5-B8 on the Purple Line, as well as the tunnels connecting these stations. The project also encompasses the design of the separation of the Green and Red lines at ’28 May’ station, a transfer chamber at ‘Icherisheher’ station, a return tunnel, and an underground parking facility.

The collaboration between “Baku Metro” CJSC, part of AZCON Holding, and “Yksel Proje” highlights a significant step towards enhancing the metro infrastructure to meet future demands. The project aims to improve the efficiency and capacity of the metro system, thereby contributing to better public transportation in the region.
