Baku Stadium Hosts Information Tours for COP29 Preparations.


Baku: Baku Stadium has become the focal point of preparations for the upcoming UNFCCC COP29, as the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company has initiated information tours for diplomatic missions and international organizations. Since October 28, these tours have aimed to provide insights into the extensive preparations underway for the conference.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, representatives from nearly 50 countries, including about 100 members from diplomatic missions and over 100 advanced team members and liaison officers, participated in the tours. The tours encompassed key locations such as Baku Stadium, the designated venue for COP29, and Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

During the tours, participants received detailed briefings on the Blue and Green Zones of the venue, which are designed to accommodate VIPs and guests. They also explored the plenary halls, Media Centre, negotiation rooms, country pavilions, and the Accreditation Centre. Additionally, a comprehensive briefing was provided
on the operations and security measures at the airport in preparation for COP29.

Tour participants acknowledged the substantial progress made in the preparations and expressed confidence in the event’s success, emphasizing its significance as a leading global climate conference.
