Baku: The Baku State University (BSU) and the Petre Andrei University of Ia?i have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at fostering collaboration between the two institutions. The agreement was formalized during a meeting that included Elchin Babayev, Rector of BSU, Vasile Soare, the Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, and a delegation led by Sorin Bocancea, Rector of Petre Andrei University.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Elchin Babayev highlighted BSU's legacy, its academic and research endeavors, and existing international partnerships, particularly emphasizing the productive relationship with Romanian universities. He noted the potential for joint forums, scientific conferences, and research initiatives with Petre Andrei University.
Ambassador Vasile Soare remarked on the progressing friendly ties between Azerbaijan and Romania, crediting educational and scientific institutions with a pivotal role in this development.
Rector Sorin Bocancea shared that Petre Andrei University specializes in social and humanitarian studies and has a track record of collaborating with esteemed universities across Europe, especially those in the Black Sea region. He described the meeting as a promising start to a fruitful academic partnership between the two universities.
The discussions also covered potential cooperation in various academic fields, joint conferences, and mutual publications and research projects. The visiting delegation was given a tour of BSU's renovated facilities and presented the university's Scientific Library with a special edition of Petre Andrei University's international scientific journal, POLIS, dedicated to Azerbaijan.
