Baku: The Baku State University (BSU) has entered into a significant partnership with China's Tianjin University by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing educational processes and fostering collaborative efforts.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the MoU was signed by BSU Rector Elchin Babayev and Tianjin University President Chai Liyuan. The agreement seeks to promote joint research and the organization of various academic activities such as projects, conferences, exhibitions, seminars, symposiums, and training programs.

The collaboration will also involve joint publications in scientific magazines, the development of joint academic programs, curricula, and syllabi. Additionally, the agreement includes exchange programs for academic and administrative staff, as well as students and researchers at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.

Tianjin University, founded in 1895, is recognized as a leading academic institution in China. It holds a global ranking of 257th and is positioned 51st in Asia according to the QS World University Rankings 2026. Furthermore, it is ranked within the top 250 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
