Baku to Host 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue

Baku:The capital city of Azerbaijan is set to host the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue from October 27 to 29. Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov announced the event at a press conference, highlighting the forum's focus on fostering discussions on cultural issues among Eastern and European countries.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the Baku Process, initiated by President Ilham Aliyev in 2008, laid the foundation for this forum. The initiative has since grown, with Azerbaijan hosting six consecutive forums aimed at expanding participation across governments, organizations, and global leaders.

The theme for this year's forum is "Building Bridges in a Divided World," addressing ongoing inequalities and conflicts. The event aims to unite representatives from various societal levels, including governments and international organizations, to promote global cooperation.

The official opening will take place on October 27, followed by a joint session with international ministers and government representatives. The forum has already seen events such as the International Youth Forum camp in Guba, with over 100 young leaders from 44 countries participating. Additional conferences have involved business representatives from diverse regions.

Farid Jafarov emphasized the introduction of new forum directions, including the involvement of academic and research communities. Special focus is given to the participation of young leaders and women, with media representatives from 19 countries present to cover the event. The forum is conducted in collaboration with international partners, including the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.
