Baku: Next year, there will be a high-level meeting of anti-corruption agencies of OIC member states in Baku, said Heydar Mammadov, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan delivering a speech at the closing ceremony of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Global Operations Network (GlobE Network) of the United Nations Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies held in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Deputy Prosecutor General highlighted the will of the Azerbaijani government in the fight against corruption and its legal initiatives in this area, noting that the country’s anti-corruption events have gained global support. He also thanked the GlobE Network and other partners for their cooperation in the organization of the event and the discussions.

Additionally, the Deputy Prosecutor General mentioned that at the second high-level meeting of law enforcement agencies fighting corruption of OIC member states, held on November 26-27 last year, in which a delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev participated, Azerbaijan was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Bureau of Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Furthermore, Azerbaijan has been entrusted with the right to host the next session and high-level meeting, which will be held in 2026.

It was noted that over the course of the three-day event in Baku, more than 300 representatives from over 90 countries discussed issues such as the impact of new technologies on law enforcement agencies, the prevention of environmental crimes, and the recovery of stolen assets.
