Baku: An international conference titled “Launch of the AI Index for the Islamic World,” co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Science and Education in partnership with ICESCO, is set to take place at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on December 8-9.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event will feature the attendance of ICESCO Director General Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik, along with Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Supreme Chairman of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation. The conference will introduce the “AI Index for the Islamic World,” a document designed to measure artificial intelligence development trends on a scientific basis.

The conference aims to enhance cooperation on artificial intelligence within the Islamic world and explore the ethical, social, and economic impacts of AI. Approximately 150 participants, including ministers of education from 10 ICESCO member countries, international experts, and government representatives, will attend the event.

Discussions will focus on the role of artificial intelligence in the education system, culminating in the adoption of a final declaration on ‘Developing the artificial intelligence index among ICESCO member countries.’
