Baku: The world's top young beach wrestlers will gather in Azerbaijan as the country hosts the U17 Beach Wrestling World Championships and the fourth stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series for the first time from August 27 to 29. Both prestigious events will be held at the Sea Breeze resort.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, on August 27, nearly 150 young wrestlers representing 34 countries will compete for medals at the U17 Beach Wrestling World Championships. The boys' competition will feature 60kg, 70kg, 80kg, and 90kg weight categories, while the girls will compete in the 45kg, 55kg, 65kg, and 75kg categories.
The competition will continue on August 28-29 with the fourth stage of the senior Beach Wrestling World Series. Up to 60 athletes are expected to compete, with men's events held in the 70kg, 80kg, 90kg, and +90kg weight categories, and women's events in the 50kg, 60kg, 70kg, and +70kg categories.
In total, more than 200 athletes from 34 countries will compete for medals on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
