BAKU — In a significant move towards modernizing its public transportation system, Baku has received the first batch of electric buses as part of its collaboration with China’s BYD company, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency announced.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this initial delivery marks the beginning of a series aimed at transforming urban transport in Baku. The buses are scheduled to be operational on city routes by October 31, 2024. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to introduce environmentally friendly transport solutions in Azerbaijan’s capital, reflecting ongoing efforts to reduce urban pollution and enhance public transport services.
