Bangkok: The Italian Women’s National Volleyball Team secured their second championship title by defeating Trkiye 3-2 in the 2025 FIVB Volleyball World Championship final held in Bangkok, Thailand.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Italy clinched the victory in a thrilling match that ended with set scores of 25-23, 13-25, 26-24, 19-25, and 15-8. This victory marks Italy’s second world championship title, showcasing their prowess on the international stage.

Trkiye, making their first appearance in the final, earned the silver medal after a hard-fought match. Melissa Vargas emerged as the top scorer for Trkiye, contributing 33 points to her team’s effort.

Italy’s win was bolstered by the performance of Paola Egonu, who led her team to victory with 22 points. In the third-place match, Brazil defeated Japan 3-2, with set scores of 25-12, 25-17, 19-25, 27-29, and 18-16, securing the bronze medal.
