Barcelona to File UEFA Complaint Against PSG Over Offensive Banner

Barcelona:Barcelona is preparing to report Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to UEFA following the display of a controversial banner by the French team's supporters during their Champions League match. The Catalan club views the banner as an unacceptable breach of sporting conduct.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Barcelona plans to lodge a formal complaint with UEFA after the match concludes. The banner, raised by PSG supporters before the game, featured the phrase "Massacre Parisian style" alongside an image depicting a person in a PSG shirt and a terrifying mask, wielding a chainsaw, seemingly smashing Barcelona's crest.

The banner was displayed just before the match began, adding to the charged atmosphere of the encounter between the two European football giants. The imagery used drew inspiration from the "Leatherface" character of "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" and incorporated elements from the "Halloween" series character, Michael Myers. This provocative display was seen by Barcelona's board as crossing the boundary of acceptable sports rivalry.

The Catalan club's decision to file a complaint follows their belief that the banner's message went beyond typical fan rivalry and constituted an overstepping of sporting decorum. The rivalry between Barcelona and PSG is well-known for its intensity, both on and off the pitch.

No details have been provided regarding potential sanctions or any official response from Paris Saint-Germain.
