Berlin Celebrates Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces Day with Grand Banquet

Berlin: A banquet marking Azerbaijan's Armed Forces Day on June 26 was held in Berlin, co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany and the Military Attach© Office of the Armed Forces. The event took place at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Berlin and was attended by high-ranking representatives from the German Federal Ministry of Defense, members of the Bundestag, ambassadors, and military attach©s from various countries accredited to Germany. The gathering also included media representatives, scientists, cultural figures, and members of the Azerbaijani, Turkish, and other friendly communities residing in the country.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event began with a commemoration of the martyrs who lost their lives for Azerbaijan's independence and territorial integrity, marked by a minute of silence. The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Germany were then performed, followed by the screening of a video clip showcasing the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Germany Nasimi Aghayev addressed the audience, highlighting that the foundation of the Armed Forces was laid with the establishment of the first national military corps of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on June 26, 1918. He emphasized the significance of the Armed Forces, formed on these historical traditions after the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, as a pillar of the country's sovereignty and national security. Aghayev also noted the ongoing successful development of the partnership between Azerbaijan and Germany, particularly in security and defense cooperation.

The event concluded with a concert program by Azerbaijani pianist Narmin Najafli, adding a cultural touch to the celebration.
