A graduate of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), martyr Elchin Bagirov was born on this day in 1994.

Elchin, an only child in his family, graduated from AzTU and did active military service in the artillery division of a military unit in Nakhchivan.

Elchin, who voluntarily participated in the Patriotic War, which lasted 44 days showed great heroism in the mortar battalion in which he served.

He did not forget to call home even in the most difficult days of the war. The last time he called home was on October 21. A few days later, he became a martyr.

He was posthumously awarded the medals “For the Motherland” and “For the liberation of Khojavend”.
